It is that time of year again! National Chemistry Week is quickly approaching and to celebrate, members of Phillips 66, COP, CPChem and the NOKACS chapter will be visiting area schools to perform chemistry experiments in 4th and 5th grade classrooms. The goal of NCW is to build awareness of chemistry at our local community level, and to help spark the interest and curiosity of young students in science. This year’s theme is Solving Mysteries through Chemistry.
This year’s NCW organizing committee would like to invite you to participate by volunteering to visit one of the area schools and help facilitate the activities with students. These experiments are designed to take 45 minutes to 1 hour at most and depending on the travel distance, participation should require no more than approximately 2 hours of your time. Everything you need will be prepared and ready for you to pick up and take with you on the day of your visit. Online demonstrations, handouts, and guide sheets will also be made available on this site.
Come again soon for exciting news and developments!
